Working on behalf of Axiom Yorkshire and Castleford Tigers, Williams Gallagher was appointed to prepare planning applications to deliver a major employment led development at Junction 32 of the M62 on a site within the West Yorkshire Green Belt alongside the major upgrade of Castleford Tigers' existing stadium.
The scheme included:
140,000 sq. m employment and logistics development
A major upgrade to Wheldon Road to ensure the stadium meets Super League standards, and provides modern accessible facilities, such as much improved corporate hospitality accommodation for the club.
The creation of over 2,000 FTE net new jobs for the area once the development is complete and further construction jobs during the build.
New publicly accessible open space and improved pedestrian and cycle links across the site.
An upgrade to Junction 32 of the M62 to resolve existing congestion and provide capacity for future housing and jobs growth in Castleford.
An electric vehicle charging station to meet modern demand for environmentally friendly transport.
Williams Gallagher was also appointed to appear at the Wakefield Local Plan Examination Hearings on behalf of Axiom Yorkshire.
